In brief

  • Binance Wallet accepts USDT for gas fees on Ethereum, Solana, TRON, and BNB Smart Chain
  • Users eliminate need to hold native tokens like ETH or SOL for on-chain transfers
  • TRON transfers qualify for zero gas fees through December 22, 2026 via TRON DAO
  • Standard TRON transfer fee after promotion is 1 USDT per transaction

How the USDT gas feature works

Binance Wallet's USDT gas feature handles the underlying gas payment on the user's behalf, deducting the equivalent cost in USDT instead of requiring the native token. Users moving TRC-20 assets on TRON, for instance, no longer need to hold TRX to execute those transfers.

The mechanics are straightforward. Users already holding USDT on Binance have a direct path to using this feature without needing to bridge funds or set up new wallets. It's a friction-reducer for the ecosystem's largest stablecoin holder.

TRON's limited-time promotion

Binance announced a limited-time promotion running from September 23 through December 22, 2026, during which qualifying TRON transfers pay zero gas fees. TRON DAO is backing that promotion.

After the promotion window closes, the standard fee for TRON transfers settles at 1 USDT per transaction. That flat-fee structure is notable. The 1 USDT flat fee positions Binance to compete with centralized alternatives on withdrawal costs, a key friction point for users moving capital between platforms.

Distribution advantage

Binance Wallet sits inside the Binance ecosystem, which gives it built-in distribution. The feature isn't a technical breakthrough. It's a product convenience play that leverages Binance's scale. Users already accustomed to holding USDT on the exchange now have a reason to interact with the wallet interface more often, deepening engagement without requiring them to adopt a new stablecoin or restructure their holdings.
