A rough week for Bitcoin funds
Friday's number was a bounce. That's about it.
It came after back-to-back outflows of $484.9 million on Wednesday and $244.1 million on Thursday, and Decrypt reported that Wednesday's exit was the funds' worst day since June. The month didn't start that way (Bitcoin ETFs recorded $292.6 million in inflows across Oct. 1 and 2), and a $118.8 million inflow on Oct. 6 couldn't offset the selling that followed.
September looked very different. Decrypt noted that after the Senate's failed cloture vote on the Clarity Act triggered heavy outflows in mid-September, Bitcoin ETFs posted a nine-session inflow streak worth roughly $3 billion, a run that pushed 2026's year-to-date flows back into positive territory. Since launch, cumulative net inflows total $57.6 billion, with $100.6 billion in total net assets, per the same tracker.
Ethereum funds have fared worse
Nine straight days of outflows.
Ethereum ETFs shed $56.1 million on Friday, and according to Decrypt they've lost $635 million so far in October and nearly $700 million over the full streak. The heaviest single day was Oct. 6, when $201.9 million left the funds. Cumulative net inflows since launch stand at $13.2 billion, against total net assets of $14.5 billion, Decrypt's tracker shows.
Solana ETFs slip on a smaller scale
Solana ETFs are in the red for October as well, though the dollar figures are much smaller. The funds lost $3.8 million on Friday, their fifth straight day of outflows, bringing October's net total to a loss of $24.8 million. Their only inflow this month was $1.3 million on Oct. 2, and cumulative net inflows stand at $137.9 million.
Crypto ETFs let investors get exposure to digital currencies without using exchanges or wallets, and Decrypt describes flows in and out of the funds as a reliable measure of current market sentiment. By that yardstick, all three fund groups are showing net outflows for October so far.
