Explosive Growth Reshapes Revenue Mix
Broadcom's total Q3 revenue came in at $29.6 billion, up 86% year-over-year. The semiconductor solutions category (which houses AI products) generated $20.8 billion, a 127% increase from the year-ago quarter. That sequential momentum matters too — AI revenue jumped 54% from Q2 alone, underscoring how rapidly deployment cycles are accelerating.
Guidance Signals Sustained Momentum
Management raised full-year fiscal 2026 AI revenue guidance to approximately $58 billion. For Q4, Broadcom expects AI semiconductor revenue of about $21.7 billion, representing a 236% increase from the year-ago quarter. Total Q4 revenue is projected at roughly $34.8 billion.
Looking further out, the company is forecasting AI revenue of around $115 billion for fiscal 2027 and approximately $230 billion for fiscal 2028. These figures reflect Broadcom's confidence in sustained infrastructure spending.
Customer Concentration and Future Obligations
Broadcom's major customers include Alphabet, Anthropic, OpenAI, and Meta Platforms. The company specializes in designing custom AI accelerators, known as XPUs or ASICs, that these hyperscalers deploy at scale.
The company's remaining performance obligations stood at approximately $179.2 billion as of August 2, up from $164.6 billion the prior quarter. That $14.6 billion increase in a single quarter signals new contracts are being signed faster than revenue is being recognized — a bullish indicator for forward revenue visibility.
Market Reception
Despite the blockbuster numbers, the stock market's response was mixed, with some investors reportedly focusing on cautious elements in guidance rather than headline growth figures. The market's cautiousness underscores how embedded AI infrastructure expectations already are in valuations.
