In brief

  • ADA was down 68% over one year, per CoinGecko data cited by U.Today.
  • ADA fell from $0.954 in September 2025 to $0.138 in June 2026.
  • ADA closed only two of eight Octobers positive since 2018, per U.Today's figures.
  • Intersect said updating to Cardano Node 11.1.2 remains node operators' priority.

A ten-month slide

ADA's decline ran from September 2025 to June 2026, and it wasn't gradual. U.Today counted only one green month (April 2026) out of 10 over that stretch. The token dropped from $0.954 to $0.138 across those months (per CoinGecko figures cited by the outlet) and lost its weekly 50-period moving average at $0.451 along the way.

It's been a different picture since July. U.Today reported that ADA has rebounded since then and is on track for a third straight month of gains if September closes positive.

October hasn't been kind to ADA

October is generally viewed as a positive month for crypto assets, U.Today noted. Cardano's own track record doesn't fit that pattern.

By U.Today's figures, ADA fell more than 17% in October 2018 and rose 6.19% in October 2019. It then fell 8.27% in 2020 and 7% in 2021, dropped 6.22% in 2022, gained 15.35% in 2023, and fell 8.82% in 2024 and 24.42% in 2025.

That's two positive Octobers out of eight.

U.Today wrote that a sustained reversal would likely take more than a good month: buyers would need to regain control, with stronger volume and a series of higher highs and higher lows. The macro calendar that week was packed too, including PCE inflation, ISM manufacturing and nonfarm payrolls data.

Node 11.1.2 and Dijkstra work

On the network side, Intersect said the priority for stake pool operators and node operators remains updating to Node version 11.1.2 while Dijkstra integration continues. Cardano Node 11.1.2 was released on September 17 as an essential fix for an issue discovered on testnet.

It isn't a hard fork-ready release. Intersect described it instead as a milestone for early impact assessment and integration work, according to U.Today.

Client diversity is moving forward as well. Haskell and Dingo nodes are already producing blocks on Cardano mainnet, while Amaru and Gerolamo are making progress toward doing the same.
