In brief

  • Coinbase Derivatives will pause trading for scheduled maintenance on Saturday, October 24, at 5:00 AM CT.
  • Maintenance is expected to last nine hours, according to the Coinbase Markets X account.
  • Futures and perpetual futures trading will be unavailable; Coinbase said account access stays unchanged.
  • STG, PYR, BAL, TNSR, NEON and SYND face separate Coinbase trading suspensions in November, U.Today reported.

What goes offline (and what doesn't)

Futures and perpetual futures trading on Coinbase Financial Markets won't be available during the maintenance, according to the Coinbase Markets announcement. Coinbase said account access will remain unchanged.

Why the pause? The announcement describes it only as scheduled maintenance, and the Coinbase Markets account pointed users to its status page for further updates.

That's the full scope of what Coinbase has shared so far.

A busy October for Coinbase markets

The downtime comes in a month where Coinbase has added several derivatives products, per U.Today's roundup. Six new equity perpetual futures markets (CRWV, ORCL, SOXS, DELL, PLTR and SNXX) went live on Coinbase and Deribit earlier in October. PONS and CASHCAT perpetual futures markets also launched on Coinbase, Coinbase Advanced and Deribit in select jurisdictions.

On the spot side, Pons (PONS), Data (DATA) and Whuffie (WHUF) were listed on the Coinbase platform and app this month, U.Today reported. Axis Robotics (AXIS) is now on Coinbase too, according to the same report. Pearl (PEARL) and Stable (STABLE) were added to the exchange's listing roadmap, the report said.

Delistings run into November

Coinbase recently suspended trading for Blast (BLAST), and users holding the token on the platform were urged to move their assets before October 26, ahead of the Blast network shutdown, according to U.Today. Coinbase has scheduled more suspensions, U.Today reported, all at 2 PM ET: Stargate Finance (STG) and Vulcan Forged (PYR) on November 6, Balancer (BAL) and Tensor (TNSR) on November 9, and Neon EVM (NEON) and Syndicate (SYND) on November 16.

The NEON and SYND suspension covers Coinbase Simple and Advanced Trade, Coinbase Exchange and Coinbase Prime, Coinbase said, as reported by U.Today.
