In brief

  • HashKey MENA, Aptos Foundation, and Daya launch B2B stablecoin settlement corridor for Middle East-Africa trade
  • Pilot supports on- and off-ramps for Nigerian naira and other African currencies via Aptos blockchain
  • HashKey provides AED/USD and multi-currency fiat-to-stablecoin connectivity; Daya manages African payment infrastructure
  • Initiative establishes infrastructure for larger B2B trade settlement model using stablecoins
  • Pilot extends HashKey's Asia Connect network, which launched Hong Kong-Philippines corridor in June 2025

Pilot structure and rollout

The pilot is expected to roll out in two phases, beginning with multinational companies funding cross-border local payments through on- and off-ramping at different points in the corridor. HashKey MENA will provide AED/USD and multi-currency fiat-to-stablecoin connectivity as part of the settlement infrastructure.

Daya will provide African payment infrastructure, including local-currency on- and off-ramps, a smart routing engine, virtual local-currency accounts, and payment APIs for businesses and fintechs. This layered approach allows the corridor to connect regional payment rails with blockchain settlement.

Ecosystem support and long-term vision

The Aptos Foundation will support the initiative as an ecosystem partner and will help fund execution across the network. The partnership reflects growing interest in using blockchain infrastructure for regulated, cross-border commerce rather than speculative trading.

The pilot is expected to establish the infrastructure for a larger B2B trade settlement model using stablecoins as a potential primary settlement asset. Notably, the initiative will retain access to traditional SWIFT and bank wire infrastructure, ensuring interoperability with existing banking systems during the transition.

Building on existing momentum

This corridor expands HashKey's stablecoin payment network. The network launched its first Hong Kong-Philippines stablecoin corridor in June 2025 and has since expanded across Southeast Asia and into the Middle East. The Middle East-Africa corridor represents a significant geographic expansion, targeting one of the world's highest-cost remittance corridors.
