Jensen Huang urged Nscale to work 'around the clock' on data center delays, report says
In brief
- Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang urged Nscale to fix data center delays, Crypto Briefing reported from GTC Berlin.
- Nvidia is both an investor in and a technology supplier to Nscale.
- Nscale's targeted NYSE IPO valuation is $30 billion, Crypto Briefing reported, citing unnamed research.
- Microsoft reportedly exited a £2 billion Essex project after grid connection delays.
Investor, supplier and now taskmaster
Nvidia isn't a bystander here. It's both an investor in Nscale and a technology supplier to the company, and Nscale secured £500 million from Nvidia in 2025, according to Crypto Briefing.
Nscale is young. It was founded in 2024 as a spinout of Arkon Energy, and part of its strategy relies on Nvidia's DSX modular AI factory technology (with sites planned across multiple countries).
Jensen Huang urged UK-based AI infrastructure company Nscale to “work around the clock” to fix delays and equipment issues at its data centers.
The numbers behind the pressure
Crypto Briefing, citing unnamed research findings, reported that Nscale is preparing for a NYSE IPO at a targeted $30 billion valuation. The same report said the company has built up more than $100 billion in contracted revenue in the two years since launch, and that it's under contract for roughly 200,000 GPUs across sites in the US and Europe. Nscale has also signed partnerships with Microsoft and Anthropic, per the outlet.
The outlet doesn't name the research behind those figures.
Power is the bottleneck
Crypto Briefing also reported that Microsoft withdrew from a £2 billion UK project with Nscale in Loughton, Essex, after delays in power grid connections pushed the site's availability into the 2030s. That project would have housed 23,040 Nvidia GB300 GPUs, according to the report.
There's a US angle too, though it's unconfirmed. Nscale is reportedly moving forward with plans for a major data center campus in West Virginia known as Monarch, and it's said to be in advanced talks with Anthropic for additional capacity there. No contracts have been signed.
Crypto Briefing framed power availability and deployment timelines as a broader problem for AI infrastructure, not just one company's headache. That's the backdrop for Huang's push: the chips don't do much if the sites housing them aren't ready.
