Morgan Stanley Solana Trust draws inflows as Fidelity's FSOL logs $1.8M outflow
In brief
- Morgan Stanley's MSOL recorded a $1.77M to $1.8M inflow on October 8, 2026, per Crypto Briefing.
- Fidelity's FSOL logged a $1.8 million outflow in October, the outlet reported.
- US spot Solana ETPs saw roughly $25 million in outflows over the week.
- Solana ETP category held around $1.62 billion in net assets as of mid-October.
MSOL runs against the category
The inflow came on a day when the Solana ETP cohort as a whole was losing money, Crypto Briefing reported. The outlet also said MSOL hasn't sold any SOL and drew fresh money during the week, which set it apart from the category's broader outflows.
It's still a small fund.
Crypto Briefing put MSOL's assets at approximately $52 million, which trails competitors such as BSOL. The trust listed on NYSE Arca in late July 2026, after rival funds had already gathered assets (so it started from behind). According to the same report, MSOL charges a 0.14% expense ratio and passes up to 95% of staking rewards to investors.
FSOL's redemptions
Fidelity's FSOL logged a $1.8 million outflow in October, per Crypto Briefing. That's roughly the same size as MSOL's single-day inflow on October 8. The outlet said FSOL has shown intermittent redemptions rather than a single day of outflows.
The bigger picture for Solana ETPs
The US spot Solana ETP cohort first launched in May 2026. Since then it's accumulated approximately $1.56 billion in net inflows, and the group held around $1.62 billion in net assets as of mid-October, according to Crypto Briefing. Those are the numbers the latest weekly outflow of roughly $25 million should be measured against.
So how much does a $1.8 million inflow matter? Crypto Briefing called it meaningful for a fund of MSOL's size but small relative to a category holding roughly $1.62 billion in assets. The outlet also said the approximately $25 million in weekly outflows, coming after a strong summer, suggests investors are taking a wait-and-see approach on Solana products.
