Murad confirms $81 million memecoin roundtrip at TOKEN2049, says he expects billions
In brief
- Murad answered "Yes" when moderator Ran Neuner asked whether he roundtripped $81 million.
- TOKEN2049 Singapore hosted the exchange on Oct. 7.
- Token2049 promoted the full panel recording on Oct. 22.
- Murad said he plans to hold for another six to eight years.
- SPX6900 traded near $0.36 on Oct. 22, about 84% below its peak, per CryptoSlate.
A resurfaced exchange
The remarks aren't new. They came during the panel titled "Memecoins: Dead or Just Getting Started?" and picked up fresh attention after Token2049 promoted the full panel on Oct. 22. That promotion focused on a separate prediction from Murad, that a memecoin would eventually reach a trillion.
The $81 million figure came from Neuner. He asked whether Murad had "roundtripped eighty-one million dollars," and Murad said yes. So it's the moderator's number, confirmed by Murad on stage (LeoDex News hasn't verified it against wallet data).
Asked if he was fine with it, Murad told Neuner he was "totally" fine with it, according to CryptoSlate:
"Yeah, totally, because, uh, I think those wallets are gonna be in the billions eventually."
Holding as the strategy
Just before that exchange, Murad said building something "bigger than Dogecoin" would take a culture of holding and belief. He said he has to "lead by example." His targets sit so far above 2025 levels, he added, that he plans to hold for another six to eight years.
Later in the panel he called himself "a huge supporter" of SPX6900. The token's price was about $0.36 on Oct. 22, roughly 84% below its all-time high, CryptoSlate reported.
In another Oct. 22 post, Murad wrote that "visionaries don't wait for ‘confirmation’."
The other side of the argument
Not everyone in the memecoin space treats conviction alone as enough. In April 2025, SquidGrow founder Shibtoshi argued that utility and an organic community were needed to sustain value. Murad's case on the panel, by contrast, rested on holding and belief.
CryptoSlate was direct about the limits here. Murad's confidence that the wallets will eventually reach billions doesn't establish that they will, the outlet noted, and it doesn't give a timetable for recovering the paper gains.
Billions and a trillion are Murad's predictions, not outcomes.
