  • BiLira, Bitexen, and Bitlo adopt RLUSD for institutional client settlements

Market Entry and Exchange Partnerships

RLUSD has grown to a market capitalization of over $1.7 billion, competing directly with Circle's USDC. The token is already available on major platforms including Binance, Bitstamp, Kraken, and OKX, giving Turkish users access to the stablecoin across multiple venues.

Three Turkish exchanges—BiLira, Bitexen, and Bitlo—will use RLUSD as a dollar-denominated settlement asset for their corporate and institutional clients. This move addresses demand for stable-value settlement in a market where regulatory clarity has recently improved.

Turkey's Regulatory Framework

Turkey's Capital Markets Board introduced a comprehensive licensing framework for cryptocurrency in 2024, creating a structured environment for digital asset service providers. The final deadline for securing a full operating license is set for June 29, establishing a clear compliance timeline for exchanges and custodians.

This regulatory clarity has made Turkey an attractive jurisdiction for blockchain infrastructure. Turkey remains the dominant cryptocurrency market in the Middle East and North Africa region, with substantial institutional and retail participation.

Educational Partnership and Infrastructure

Ripple has expanded its global blockchain research agenda. The company added Istanbul Technical University (ITU) to its global University Blockchain Research Initiative, marking a commitment to developer education in the region.

The educational partnership is funded via RLUSD and will provide financial support for graduate fellowships and blockchain research projects. ITU will also host and operate an XRP Ledger validator node on its campus, deepening the university's role in the XRP ecosystem infrastructure.
