India's esports momentum

S8UL Esports won the National Esports Championship 2026 qualifiers and earned the right to carry India's flag in competitive League of Legends. The qualification marks a significant milestone for Indian esports on the continental stage. Regional qualifiers for the 2026 Asian Games are scheduled for mid-June 2026, giving teams across Asia a final window to compete for spots.

S8UL was born from a merger between Team SouL and 8Bit Creatives, a deal that came together between 2018 and 2020. Since its formation, the organization has built a multi-title presence. The team currently fields rosters across 18 different gaming titles and has accumulated championships at both national and international levels.

Experience at the continental level

Several members of S8UL's roster already competed at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games, where they finished fifth. That prior experience gives the squad familiarity with the pressure and format of continental competition. Esports was introduced as a medal event at the 2018 Asian Games, establishing a competitive tradition that continues to grow across the region.

The 2026 Asian Games represent another opportunity for India to strengthen its standing in global esports. S8UL's qualification signals the nation's deepening investment in competitive gaming infrastructure and talent development.
