In brief

  • Shiba Inu launched on the Solana blockchain on October 4, U.Today reported.
  • SHIB 24-hour trading volume topped $95.89 million, up 171.8%, per CoinMarketCap data.
  • SHIB price traded near $0.000005959, up 4.36% over the same 24-hour window.
  • Volume jump followed the launch, but the source data does not show the launch caused it.
  • Shiba Inu onchain activity had slowed slightly in the days before the report.

What the numbers show

CoinMarketCap data reported by U.Today put SHIB's trading volume above $95,890,000 about 24 hours after its expansion into Solana. That's up 171.8% from the prior 24 hours. Keep in mind these are snapshot figures (a single 24-hour window), not a sustained trend.

Price moved too. SHIB traded at about $0.000005959, up 4.36% over the same period, and U.Today said the volume jump coincided with that price rise.

"Shiba Inu is now trading at around $0.000005959, a notable increase of 4.36% over the past 24 hours." (U.Today)

Timing, not cause

U.Today wrote that the Solana launch "has driven a sharp surge in trading activity." The only support it offers for that is timing: the jump in volume came shortly after the token expanded to Solana. That's a sequence of events, not proof of cause, so we're framing it as timing only (that caution is ours, not U.Today's).

The outlet also doesn't name an official Shiba Inu source for the launch, and it doesn't say whether the token on Solana is native or bridged. We're treating it as a reported expansion rather than a confirmed official deployment. What U.Today did report is that users on the Solana network can now trade and interact with SHIB.

A mixed onchain picture

Onchain data looks softer. Shiba Inu's onchain activity slowed slightly in the days before the report, according to U.Today.

The outlet also quoted unnamed market participants who said they expect the Solana move to help push SHIB's onchain holder count to 1.7 million faster. That's unattributed speculation (U.Today didn't say who those participants were), and the report gives no figures to back it up.

For now, the hard data is a single 24-hour snapshot.
