In brief

  • Kusama breaks X silence after May 13 with bio emphasizing 'Pure Focus' on AI app and R.OS development
  • R.OS platform nears completion with beta website live and final bug pass underway
  • SHIB expands to Mercari, Japan's largest flea market app with 23 million monthly users

Breaking the Silence

Kusama's last post on X was May 13, where he only tagged Shiba Inu developer Kaal Dhairya. The weeks-long absence left the community guessing. His bio update is the first concrete signal of activity since then, shifting focus from social posts to product development.

The R.OS Platform

In a February livestream, Shytoshi Kusama unveiled a new AI-powered relationship platform which aims to help couples identify patterns, friction points, and long-term compatibility risks. The platform, now referred to as R.OS in his bio, appears to be entering its final development phase. Beta website completion and final bug fixes suggest a launch window is approaching.

Ecosystem Expansion

Separately, SHIB is now tradable on Mercari, one of Japan's largest flea market apps, through a partnership between Coincheck and MELCOIN. Mercari is used by 23 million people monthly, expanding SHIB's reach into retail markets beyond traditional crypto exchanges.

Recent infrastructure work also touched the ecosystem. The Shib.io website, the official gateway to the Shiba Inu ecosystem, experienced a technical issue that was resolved by the Shiba Inu developer team. The team confirmed normal and secure operations have resumed.

Kusama's X location remains unchanged, being Backlog, Marketing, Positioning, a hint at the strategic priorities guiding his work behind the scenes.
