Stablecoin dominance and transaction growth

Fee recovery and DeFi headwinds

Network fees rose 15.9% to $699.4 million in Q2 2026, marking the first quarterly increase since August 2025. The recovery reflects both higher transaction volume and increased economic activity on-chain.

DeFi metrics told a different story. Tron's DeFi TVL slipped 1.9% to $4.4 billion, while average daily DEX volume fell 21.7% to $49.3 million, marking a fourth consecutive quarterly decline. The divergence underscores Tron's dominance in stablecoin settlement rather than decentralized trading.

Ecosystem expansion and token developments

Meanwhile, Bitnomial launched spot TRX trading in the United States, and OKX Europe introduced MiFID-regulated TRX expiry perpetuals. Binance.US restored trading in the token, expanding access for U.S. traders.

On the infrastructure side, Anchorage Digital added native TRX staking and custody for TRC-20 assets in July 2026, providing institutional-grade custody options. Tron's circulating supply increased by 87 million tokens during Q2 2026 as issuance continued to outpace burns.
