IBIT, FBTC and ARKB lead the exits
BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) led Wednesday's withdrawals with $207.7 million in outflows, according to Farside Investors. That's a sharp reversal. The same fund had $122 million in net inflows the day before, when spot Bitcoin ETFs as a group took in $118.8 million.
Fidelity's FBTC followed with $105.1 million in outflows on Wednesday, and ARK 21Shares' ARKB recorded $101.7 million (all three topped $100 million). The last time the funds lost more in a single session was June 25, when they gave up $691.7 million, per Farside's figures.
October flips to net outflows
Bitcoin ETFs had gathered $321.6 million in net inflows across October's first four trading sessions. Wednesday's withdrawals wiped that out entirely, leaving the products with approximately $163 million in net outflows for the month, according to Cointelegraph's reading of Farside data.
Four sessions of gains, gone in one day.
Bitcoin traded near $82,700 on Thursday, down about 2% over the previous 24 hours, according to CoinGecko.
Ether ETFs extend losing streak to seven sessions
Spot Ether ETFs didn't escape the outflows. They recorded $160.9 million in net outflows on Wednesday, per Farside, extending their losing streak to seven consecutive trading sessions. BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) accounted for $116.1 million of that total, while Grayscale's Ethereum Trust (ETHE) followed with $25.8 million.
Since Sept. 29, Ether funds have shed approximately $569 million, according to the same data. BlackRock's products posted the largest outflows in both the Bitcoin and Ether groups on Wednesday, and that's now on the record next to the Bitcoin funds' worst day since June 25.
