IBIT did the heavy lifting
BlackRock's fund brought in $665.2 million on Monday, which is more than the $526.7 million net figure for the whole group. The gap comes from two competitors posting outflows on the same day. Fidelity's Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) recorded $83.6 million in withdrawals, and the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) recorded $54.9 million. Every other spot Bitcoin ETF recorded no net flows, according to Farside.
The last time these funds took in more in a single session was Sept. 22, when they attracted $714.7 million. Monday's intake also reversed the $82.4 million in net outflows they'd recorded on Friday.
Two weeks of withdrawals came first
Monday's number followed two weeks of withdrawals. The funds posted net weekly outflows in each of the previous two weeks, shedding about $229 million last week after losing $681 million the week before. They'd also recorded $483.9 million in outflows on Oct. 7, which was their largest daily withdrawal since June (those are Farside's numbers, as reported by Cointelegraph).
So where does October stand?
Even with Monday's inflows, US spot Bitcoin ETFs were still about $88 million negative for the month, according to Farside's daily figures. One big day hasn't been enough to get the month back to positive.
Ether ETFs moved the other way
Ether products saw the opposite. US spot Ether ETFs recorded $103.3 million in net outflows on Monday, led by $95.4 million in withdrawals from BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA). That's the same issuer whose Bitcoin fund led the inflows on the same day.
Ether funds lost about $320 million last week, their third consecutive week of net withdrawals, per Farside data cited by Cointelegraph. In a separate item, Cointelegraph reported that VanEck sought to withdraw its application for a Lido staked Ether ETF.
