In brief

  • Adam Weitsman bought 117 Pudgy Penguins NFTs, confirming the purchase on X on October 11, 2026.
  • His total now stands at 167 Penguins across several wallets, per Crypto Briefing.
  • Pudgy Penguins' floor rose 16.7% to about 2.74 ETH within 24 hours, Crypto Briefing reported.
  • Weitsman framed the purchase as support for the collection and its community.

A buy framed as support

Weitsman didn't pitch this as a trade. Crypto Briefing reported that he regards Pudgy Penguins as a favorite (the draw, by his account, is the project's community-driven appeal), and his X post tied the new purchase to a rough patch for the collection.

The outlet also reported that the company behind Pudgy Penguins decided to shut down Abstract, its layer-2 project. It didn't cite a company announcement for that, so LeoDex News is treating it as unconfirmed. (A layer-2 network is a system built on top of a main blockchain to make transactions faster and cheaper.)

Floor price reportedly up 16.7%

The Pudgy Penguins floor price reportedly rose to approximately 2.74 ETH, or around $6,900, after the announcement. That's a 16.7% gain within 24 hours, according to Crypto Briefing, which didn't name a data source. Those numbers are reported, not independently verified.

The floor price is the cheapest listed price for any item in a collection. It's a rough gauge of entry-level demand.

Not his first round

Weitsman has been building this position for a while. His first purchase from the collection dates back to December 2025, per Crypto Briefing's account. In 2026 he struck an over-the-counter deal covering 48 each of Pudgy Penguins, Lil Pudgys and Pudgy Rods, and in June 2026 he picked up the rare left-facing Pudgy Penguin #6873 for 146.5 ETH.

His appetite isn't limited to penguins.

In August 2026, he acquired more than 5,000 NFTs from Yuga Labs, the outlet reported.

That leaves one collector holding 167 Penguins. Crypto Briefing noted that at that size, his future decisions carry real weight for the collection.
