Bitcoin ETF outflows accelerate; ARK 21Shares leads $282.6M exodus
In brief
- US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $282.6 million in net outflows Thursday, the largest daily exodus in nearly two months.
- ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB) led with $164 million in outflows; Grayscale and Fidelity funds also saw redemptions.
- Three-day selling streak totaled $449 million in weekly outflows, reversing gains from a $3.8 billion inflow period.
- Bitcoin ETF assets under management remain at $97.5 billion, with cumulative net inflows of $55.17 billion year-to-date.
The Thursday Exodus
ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB) accounted for $164 million of Thursday's outflows, representing the single largest redemption among the Bitcoin ETF suite. Grayscale's Bitcoin Trust ETF (GBTC) recorded $36 million in outflows, followed by Fidelity's FBTC with $33.6 million. The concentration of outflows in the largest and most accessible Bitcoin ETF products signals coordinated profit-taking or rebalancing among institutional investors.
Broader Crypto ETF Weakness
The Bitcoin selloff wasn't isolated. Spot Ether (ETH) ETFs registered $29.8 million in net outflows on Thursday, while spot Solana (SOL) ETFs also logged $483,000 in net outflows. The multi-asset redemption pattern suggests investors aren't simply rotating between crypto products—they're reducing exposure to the entire ETF ecosystem.
Scale and Context
Despite the recent pullback, total net assets across Bitcoin ETF funds stood at $97.5 billion, underscoring the category's structural depth. The three-day selling streak reversed part of the $3.8 billion in net inflows recorded during the funds' strongest three-week stretch of 2026. Cumulative net inflows across Bitcoin ETFs stood at $55.17 billion, meaning Thursday's exodus remains a minor correction within a much larger bull-case narrative for spot Bitcoin products.
