Bitcoin ETFs shed $463M as Ether ETFs gain $197M

Bitcoin ETF Outflows Accelerate Mid-Week
ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF led weekly withdrawals with $234.2 million in net outflows, followed by Grayscale's Bitcoin Trust ETF with $129.1 million. BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust and Fidelity's Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund also posted losses, shedding $52.5 million and $50.7 million respectively.
The withdrawals ran across all four trading sessions from Tuesday to Friday. Thursday proved especially punishing. US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded net outflows of $282.7 million, their largest daily withdrawal since July. Friday's outflow slowed to $13.2 million, suggesting the selling pressure had eased.
The reversal matters in context. Spot Bitcoin ETFs remain in positive flow territory for September, with about $307.3 million in net inflows through Friday. Last week's outflows followed the strongest three-week inflow run of 2026, which ended after the funds shed $166.8 million in the first two days of the holiday-shortened week.
Ether ETFs Stage Friday Surge
Ether ETFs showed more resilience. US spot Ether ETFs recorded $196.9 million in net inflows over the four-day period, with volatile daily flows. The funds posted $24.3 million in outflows on Tuesday, then $34.7 million in inflows on Wednesday. Thursday brought $29.9 million in outflows before a dramatic reversal.
Friday delivered the fireworks. Ether ETFs drew $216.4 million in net inflows, with BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust ETF leading at $148.8 million. The 21Shares Core Ethereum ETF added $29.1 million, rounding out the week's inflow surge.
The divergence underscores shifting investor sentiment between the two largest cryptocurrency ETF categories, even as Bitcoin maintains its monthly lead in total flows.
