Barcelona, however, offers a compelling modernization story. Camp Nou is currently mid-renovation, with the new roof projected to be complete by summer 2027 and the full project wrapping up by early 2028. The club rebranded the stadium as Spotify Camp Nou as part of a naming rights deal, and hosting the 2029 final would deliver substantial global exposure for the sponsorship.

UEFA's Executive Committee is scheduled to formally ratify both the 2028 and 2029 venues at its meeting on September 15, 2026, in Thessaloniki, Greece.
