Ripple mints 15M RLUSD on Ethereum; Upbit, Bithumb add support
In brief
- Ripple minted 15 million RLUSD on Ethereum, boosting circulating supply above $712 million
- Upbit and Bithumb added RLUSD support on July 28–29, expanding Korean exchange access
- Ripple partnered with Notabene to integrate RLUSD into institutional payment networks
Exchange listings drive adoption
Upbit announced support for RLUSD on July 28, positioning the stablecoin for deeper penetration in South Korea's retail market. Upbit Korea is the largest cryptocurrency exchange in South Korea by trading volume and customer base. The exchange now supports RLUSD deposits and withdrawals on the XRP Ledger with KRW/BTC/USDT trading pairs.
A day later, Bithumb announced trading support for RLUSD on July 29. Bithumb is one of South Korea's premier crypto exchanges and among the nation's largest KRW-based trading platforms. The exchange supports RLUSD deposits and withdrawals only on the XRP Ledger with KRW pairs, with the RLUSD/KRW pair now listed.
These listings reflect growing institutional appetite for regulated stablecoins in Asia's largest crypto market.
On-chain activity and supply dynamics
15 million RLUSD was burned on the XRP Ledger on July 29, while 10 million RLUSD was minted on Ethereum the same day. Over the past seven days, 36.5 million RLUSD was minted on Ethereum and 25.3 million was burned.
The XRP Ledger tells a different story. The circulating supply of RLUSD on the XRP Ledger is 873 million, with 65.4 million RLUSD minted in the last seven days and 68.7 million burned in the same period. The net effect shows balanced supply management across both chains.
Enterprise payment integration
Ripple announced a collaboration with Notabene in the past week. Notabene facilitates over $2 trillion in annualized transaction volume across institutional payment networks. Notabene and Ripple will collaborate to expand enterprise stablecoin payments by integrating RLUSD into Notabene Flow, the firm's compliance-focused payment platform.
"The partnership is set to accelerate the adoption of compliant stablecoin payments while creating a pathway for RLUSD to be integrated across one of the world's largest institutional payment networks for digital assets"
This integration positions RLUSD as a bridge between Ripple's on-ledger infrastructure and enterprise payment rails, targeting corridors where regulatory clarity and compliance matter most.
