In brief

  • Salesforce reached a definitive agreement to acquire Cresta, announced November 2, 2026.
  • $2.7 billion: approximate price reported by The Information.
  • Cresta runs autonomous voice agents and coaches human reps in real time.
  • Closing expected roughly February to April 2027, pending regulatory approvals.

What Cresta builds

Cresta's platform does two jobs. It runs autonomous voice agents that handle calls on their own, and it also coaches human representatives in real time while they're on a call. Its client list includes Marriott, Comcast, Alaska Airlines, United Airlines and Cox Communications.

The company was founded in 2017 out of Stanford's AI Lab. CEO Ping Wu runs it, and he previously co-founded Google Contact Center AI.

Crypto Briefing says the technology will most likely end up in Service Cloud, Salesforce's customer support product. That's where the voice agents and real-time coaching fit most naturally.

This isn't Salesforce's first AI deal.

The company has made several AI-related acquisitions recently, according to the same report. Cresta looks like one more step in that direction (this one aimed at the contact center).

The reported numbers

Cresta has raised more than $270 million in funding. It reportedly reached an estimated $100 million in annual recurring revenue as of April 2026.

Crypto Briefing ran the math on that estimate. By its calculation, a price of about $2.7 billion comes to roughly 27 times Cresta's estimated revenue and about ten times the total capital it has raised. Keep in mind that both multiples rest on a reported price and a reported revenue estimate. Neither one is a confirmed figure.

Timeline and approvals

The transaction is expected to close in Salesforce's fiscal first quarter of 2028. On a calendar basis that's roughly February to April 2027. The deal is still subject to regulatory approvals, so the closing timeline could change.
