Expansion into European derivatives
SHIB was listed on OKX's European X-Perps platform as part of a broader rollout that includes five additional crypto tokens. AEON, Zilliqa (ZIL), GRVT, PROS and ESP were added in the same batch, expanding the platform's crypto offerings. The timing aligns with the Shiba Inu ecosystem celebrating the token's sixth anniversary.
The X-Perps platform offers up to 10x leverage and supports multi-asset margin, enabling users to post Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and other assets as collateral. This structure allows traders to consolidate positions across multiple instruments within a single margin account. Like traditional perpetual contracts, the products use a funding rate mechanism to keep prices closely aligned with the underlying spot market.
Traditional finance tokenization
Beyond crypto tokens, OKX also launched tokenized exposure tied to traditional finance names such as Robinhood (HOOD), Palantir (PLTR), Qualcomm (QCOM) and Coinbase (COIN). This expansion reflects growing demand among European traders for derivatives access across asset classes. The MiFID regulatory framework governs these offerings, ensuring compliance with European financial standards.
Trading activity
SHIB remains one of the most actively traded tokens across spot markets. SHIB's most actively traded spot pair remains SHIB/USDT, with KuCoin leading at nearly $21.7 million in 24-hour volume. It is followed by Upbit's SHIB/KRW pair at roughly $10.5 million. The X-Perps listing adds another venue for derivatives exposure in a regulated European environment.
