In brief

  • World launches fully onchain prediction market on Solana via Phantom wallet and website
  • Platform offers Bitcoin price and 2026 FIFA World Cup contracts with Chainlink oracle data
  • Users trade with Phantom's CASH stablecoin, retaining custody until entering a market
  • World plans expansion into sports, political, geopolitical, and macroeconomic events

Markets and mechanics

World allows Phantom users to trade contracts tied to crypto prices and the 2026 FIFA Men's World Cup. Initial offerings include short duration Bitcoin price markets and World Cup contracts, with plans to expand into additional sports, political, geopolitical and macroeconomic events in the coming weeks.

The platform operates on Solana with trading, positions and settlement handled entirely onchain. A key distinction from centralized prediction markets: users retain custody of their funds until they enter a market, rather than depositing assets with a centralized operator. This design reduces counterparty risk and aligns with Solana's self-custody ethos.

Infrastructure and distribution

Chainlink serves as the platform's primary oracle provider through its Data Streams and Chainlink Runtime Environment infrastructure, ensuring price feeds are tamper-proof and decentralized. World uses CASH, Phantom's stablecoin, as its settlement asset.

The platform is available through Phantom and its own website. World said the Phantom integration is the first of several distribution partnerships it plans to activate across crypto and traditional financial platforms during July. This move signals World's ambition to reach users across multiple ecosystems, not just Solana natives.

Phantom had previously offered prediction markets powered by Kalshi through DFlow, so the World integration represents a shift in the wallet's prediction market strategy. The launch underscores growing demand for onchain event derivatives as alternatives to centralized betting platforms.
