In brief

  • XRP funds attracted $27.29 million in July, nearly double Solana's $14.62 million
  • Four-month inflow streak (April–July) accumulated over $300 million in XRP products
  • XRP holds longest active monthly inflow streak among crypto funds tracked in 2024
  • Bitcoin and Ethereum dominated with $172 million and $365 million respectively
  • Most altcoins recorded weak flows; Hyperliquid posted first July outflow

XRP pulls away from altcoin competitors

XRP funds attracted $27.29 million in July, nearly double the $14.62 million that Solana products captured. The gap reflects a widening divergence in fund flows. Chainlink followed with $4.54 million, while Hedera attracted $3 million.

The monthly breakdown tells the story. XRP funds attracted $81.59 million in April, $131.94 million in May, $59.46 million in June, and $27.29 million in July. Even as July's intake declined from June's total, the consistency matters. Solana funds have accumulated about $1.15 billion since launch, but returned to second place in July after a modest June outflow.

Hyperliquid stumbles; most altcoins stall

Hyperliquid funds attracted about $293 million across May and June, briefly surpassing XRP in both months. That momentum didn't last. The funds recorded their first outflow in July.

Elsewhere in the altcoin space, flows turned sporadic or negative. Avalanche and Polkadot recorded no monthly flows in July. BNB has not registered a net inflow since June 11. Litecoin and Dogecoin each recorded flows on just two days during July, with Dogecoin finishing the month with about $526,000 of net outflows.

Bitcoin and Ethereum remain the core

The dominance of the two largest cryptocurrencies remains unquestioned. Bitcoin and Ethereum attracted $172 million and $365 million respectively in July. Their combined intake dwarfs any single altcoin product.

Yet within the altcoin tier, a distinct hierarchy is crystallizing. XRP, Solana, and Hyperliquid are forming a distinct group beneath Bitcoin and Ethereum. Strong demand for XRP, Solana, and Hyperliquid contrasts with weak, sporadic flows across the rest of the altcoin fund market. XRP's consistency—four straight months of positive flows—sets it apart even within that tier.
