XRP Hovers Near $1 Support as Recovery Attempts Stall
In brief
- XRP trades at $1.07, just above the $1.00 support level after multiple failed recovery attempts since early June.
- XRP trades below its 26-day, 50-day, and 100-day moving averages, signaling weak momentum.
- Volume decline over two weeks suggests traders await a catalyst for directional movement.
Technical Weakness Persists
XRP is trading below the 26-day, 50-day, and 100-day exponential moving averages, a sign of sustained selling pressure. The 200-day EMA sits significantly higher at $1.39, marking a steep climb that would require a sustained bullish reversal to reach.
Since early June, every rally has stalled below the declining moving averages, resulting in a sequence of lower highs. This pattern suggests sellers are stepping in at predictable levels. The Relative Strength Index is currently at about 45, indicating XRP is neither overbought nor oversold—there's room for additional weakness without reaching capitulation.
Over the last two weeks, volume has steadily decreased, indicating that buyers and sellers are both awaiting a catalyst. Low volume during a downtrend can amplify sharp moves when conviction finally arrives.
The $1.00 Line in the Sand
The psychological $1 level continues to be the market's most crucial line in the sand as XRP has once again fallen into a technically precarious position. Over the next seven days, the critical zone will be between $1.00 and roughly $1.03—a narrow band where the next directional bias will likely be decided.
A recovery toward the 50-day EMA at $1.10-$1.12 is possible, but repeated testing of support levels usually reduces support as the amount of available demand typically decreases. Each time buyers defend a level and fail, the psychological weight of that level weakens.
If XRP closes sharply below $1.00 on high volume, the market may rapidly decline as stop-loss orders are activated. That scenario would represent a break of a key psychological barrier and could trigger broader selling across the XRP position.
