Close-up of bitcoin coins reflecting on a screen with financial market data, highlighting digital currency trend.

In brief

  • Bitcoin drew $1.004 billion in three-session inflows, averaging $334.7 million daily—4.1× its historical average.
  • Ethereum recorded $289.1 million total inflows at $96.4 million daily, about 4.3× its $22.6 million average.
  • Solana saw only $4.1 million inflows, averaging $1.4 million daily—24% of its $5.6 million average.
  • BlackRock's IBIT contributed $588.5 million; Fidelity's FBTC added $198.2 million; ARK 21Shares' ARKB supplied $111.6 million.
  • BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust led Ethereum flows with $212.7 million over the period.

Bitcoin's Dominant Rebound

Bitcoin funds recorded $1.004 billion in total inflows across the three sessions. The surge reflects sustained institutional appetite for spot Bitcoin exposure. BlackRock's IBIT contributed $588.5 million over August 17–19, underscoring the fund's dominance in the Bitcoin ETP ecosystem. Fidelity's FBTC added $198.2 million, while ARK 21Shares' ARKB supplied $111.6 million across the period.

The velocity matters. Bitcoin's daily average of $334.7 million is roughly 4.1 times the $81.0 million historical baseline. This acceleration signals renewed confidence in the asset's near-term trajectory.

Ethereum Accelerates, Solana Stalls

Ethereum funds recorded $289.1 million in total inflows across August 17–19. Ethereum averaged about $96.4 million per day, roughly 4.3 times its displayed $22.6 million average. BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) led Ethereum inflows with $212.7 million over the three sessions, demonstrating institutional appetite for Ethereum exposure.

Solana tells a different story. Solana funds recorded $4.1 million in total inflows across the period. Solana averaged about $1.4 million, roughly 24% of its displayed $5.6 million average. Bitwise Solana Staking ETF (BSOL) supplied $7.2 million across August 18–19, but Grayscale Solana Trust ETF recorded a $3.1 million outflow on August 19, partly offsetting gains.

The figures show that Ethereum also participated in the rebound, although Bitcoin attracted most of the dollars.

The data underscores a widening gap in institutional capital allocation. Bitcoin and Ethereum both accelerated sharply relative to their baselines; Solana lagged its own historical pace, signaling weaker institutional demand for the network's spot exposure at this moment.
