- Reunites with former Ireland teammate Keith Andrews, Brentford's head coach
- Duff stepped down as Shelbourne manager to join Brentford's coaching staff
Duff's Coaching Path
Duff's path into coaching started at Celtic, where he served as first-team coach from 2019 to 2020. His departure from Celtic led to a role as assistant manager with the Republic of Ireland national team from 2020 to 2021. Most recently, Duff stepped down as manager of League of Ireland club Shelbourne before the 2026 season to pursue the Brentford opportunity.
Premier League Return
This marks Duff's first Premier League coaching role since leaving Celtic. The appointment brings together two former international teammates at a club preparing for the 2025-26 season under Andrews' leadership. Duff's diverse coaching experience—spanning top-flight Scottish football, international football, and League of Ireland management—positions him to contribute strategic depth to Brentford's coaching staff as the club builds toward the new campaign.
