In brief

  • Obol World's $OBOL API went live on November 1, 2026, opening its launchpad to bots and agents.
  • Free API keys are available to developers; transactions use self-custodial wallet signing.
  • Open-market buybacks and burns receive 80% of $OBOL token and protocol revenue.
  • About 2.67 million $OBOL had been repurchased as of October 31, 2026, Obol World reported.
  • Obol World is separate from the Obol Collective, which also uses the $OBOL ticker.

What the API does

Obol World built the API so external applications, trading bots and automated agents can plug directly into its launchpad, per the project's announcement as reported by Crypto Briefing. Developers get free API keys. Transactions use self-custodial wallet signing, which means users approve them with their own wallets (Obol World doesn't hold their keys).

Fees are a per-coin choice.

Each coin launched through Obol World can decide where its fees go. The options include sending them to holders, to creators, or into perpetual futures positions on Hyperliquid.

The 80/20 revenue split

Under the new framework, 80% of revenue from both the $OBOL token and the protocol goes to buying tokens on the open market and burning them, Obol World said. The other 20% is earmarked for liquidity, infrastructure and growth.

It's already running. As of October 31, 2026, Obol World had repurchased approximately 2.67 million $OBOL tokens through buybacks, according to the project's own figures, which it tracks on a public buyback page. Those numbers come from Obol World itself, and Crypto Briefing's report doesn't point to any independent verification of them.

Two projects, one ticker

Here's where it gets confusing. Two separate crypto projects use the $OBOL ticker, and they do very different things.

The Obol Collective is an established project focused on Ethereum distributed validators, and it has its own $OBOL token. Obol World, by contrast, is a coin launchpad and trading platform. Its developer goes by @Nan0q_ on X.

The API, the 80/20 revenue framework and the 2.67 million token repurchase figure all belong to Obol World. None of them apply to the Obol Collective, even though both tokens show up under the same four letters.

Frequently asked questions

How does Obol World's buyback and burn model work?
