Stripe previews stablecoin payouts to crypto wallets in 160-plus markets
In brief
- Stripe now lets US businesses send USDC and OUSD payouts to crypto wallets in 160-plus markets.
- Stripe's Global Payouts product includes the wallet feature, which is now in public preview.
- USDC runs on Arbitrum, Avalanche, Ethereum and more; OUSD runs on Base and Ethereum.
- New York-based companies are excluded for now and are being offered a waitlist.
How the payouts work
Recipients receive the money in external crypto wallets, meaning wallets they control outside Stripe's platform. That's the key shift here. Stripe says funds typically arrive in minutes, moving across supported blockchain networks rather than traditional banking channels.
USDC payouts run on Arbitrum, Avalanche, Ethereum and additional networks, per the report, while OUSD payouts are supported on Base and Ethereum. Businesses fund the transfers from USD or USDC balances held in Stripe Treasury (Stripe handles the conversions needed to complete them). Stripe also says companies don't need to build or manage separate blockchain integrations to use the feature.
There's one notable gap.
Companies based in New York are excluded from the wallet payout feature for now, and Crypto Briefing reports they're being offered a waitlist option instead. It's also worth keeping the status straight: this is a public preview, not general availability.
Stripe's stablecoin build-out
This isn't Stripe's first stablecoin move. The company already accepted stablecoin payments that settle in fiat currency, and it resumed support for USDC payments for US businesses in 2024, according to Crypto Briefing. In 2025, it made strategic acquisitions that strengthened its stablecoin infrastructure, Crypto Briefing reported.
The pace has picked up this year. Crypto Briefing reports that by the end of September 2026, OUSD had become a default option across Stripe's financial products. In late October, shortly before the wallet capability surfaced, Stripe launched bank payout options that convert stablecoins into local fiat across nine currencies, the outlet said. Stripe first highlighted the wallet payouts in communications on November 4.
For US businesses on Stripe, that means a stablecoin payout can now land in one of two places: a bank account in local fiat (in one of those nine currencies) or a crypto wallet the recipient holds directly.
