In brief

  • Uniswap (UNI) trading near $8.69 after briefly hitting $9.44, up nearly 3x from $3.20 lows in mid-August
  • Near Protocol (NEAR) surged to $3.62 after breaking through $2.80–$3.00 resistance and entering price discovery
  • Hyperliquid (HYPE) returned to record levels near $90.94 after erasing mid-September losses
  • Bitcoin positioned near key resistance as market momentum favors upside moves across major tokens

Uniswap breaks higher, but upper wick signals caution

UNI traded near $8.69 after briefly touching $9.44. The token's move represents a near tripling from its mid-August low around $3.20, marking one of the strongest recoveries among major altcoins.

The breakout gained legitimacy when UNI cleared the $7.20–$7.50 resistance zone that had capped the asset earlier in September. That zone had rejected buyers multiple times, making the decisive break a meaningful technical signal.

Still, the large upper wick toward $9.44 introduced a warning. Upper wicks at resistance often suggest profit-taking or weakening conviction. Traders watching UNI will likely monitor whether the asset can hold above $8.50 on pullbacks.

Near Protocol enters price discovery

NEAR completely destroyed resistance around $2.80–$3.00 and entered price discovery—a technical state where the asset trades above all recent resistance levels with no established ceiling.

The asset was trading close to $3.62 with the daily candle reaching about $3.78. The move is remarkable given that NEAR spent most of June and August below $2.20 before momentum accelerated in September.

In just a few sessions, NEAR rallied from roughly $2.35 to $3.62. Price discovery moves can extend quickly, but they also carry risk—there's no tested support below if sentiment shifts.

Hyperliquid recovers to record levels

HYPE returned to record levels after buyers erased nearly all of the mid-September correction. The token traded at $90.94 with the most recent daily candle reaching roughly $91.91.

HYPE first rose from about $58 in mid-August to the $87–$89 range before momentum stalled. Sellers then pushed the token back toward $76, but this correction did not result in a wider reversal.

HYPE produced two strong green candles that moved straight through $80 and $85. The current technical battle is around $92. If buyers sustain a breakout above current highs, the psychological $100 level would become more significant.

Bitcoin's role in the broader picture

Bitcoin's positioning near critical resistance sets the tone for the entire market. When BTC consolidates or moves higher, altcoins tend to follow. The strength in UNI, NEAR, and HYPE suggests buyers have conviction—they're rotating into smaller-cap assets even as Bitcoin tests key levels. This behavior typically signals a market cycle shift toward altseason, though it can reverse quickly if BTC momentum breaks.
